Q: Can a photograph be used to draw a particular animal in the logo?

A: Yes. The photo can be emailed. The more detail that I can see in your photo, the better the drawing.

Q: If a photo is used and the logo will include more than one subject, is it necessary to have them both in the same photo?

A: No. The subjects can be drawn using different photos.

Q: Can something in the photo be changed in the drawing?

A: Yes. For example, if there is a blemish or scar on the animal that you would not want included, I can do that if you let me know before the final drawing is begun.

Q: How long does it take to complete a logo?

A: That mostly depends upon the time it takes for the logo client to review the drafts and respond. If many modifications are requested, it increases the time until completion. It is best to have a clear idea of the desired outcome, which should significantly decrease the time from beginning to end. Commissioned projects are completed on a revolving basis. For example, while one project is waiting for a response from a client, another drawing is being worked on.

Q: How many drafts are supplied for the design set up?

A. Up to 12 drafts are included in the basic cost of the logo.  The first 6 are presented to the client from which he or she may choose one to be used for completion of the logo, or may choose to explore 6 more drafts to modify an idea or seek a completely different option.  If more drafts are needed by the client to decide, they are available at additional pricing per draft.  Most logo firms supply the client with 2 to 3 options.

Q: Is the final logo done as a vector file?

A: No. Logos are drawn on an individual basis, scanned to a computer, then cleaned and finished manually. They are not composed of pre-made shapes, objects, or images.

Q: When am I able to use the logo and can I use the previews?

A: Upon payment in full, the logo belongs to you and you may use the completed image.  Until it is paid in full, the copyright is not conveyed and use of the image is prohibited.

Q: If the client defaults on the project, is the deposit refunded?

A: The deposit covers work and time.  There is no refund available after deposit is made and the work begins. My pledge to you is that I will deliver the project, at applicable stages, in appropriate time frames. If the client abandons or defaults on the project, it will be offered for sale as a pre-made logo (with appropriate changes to the text) or retained by the artist for marketing purposes. Until the image is sold or taken off the market, the original client will retain the option to pay the balance and obtain the rights and delivery of the logo.
